According to SN2 Jeron Maloto of Philippine Coast Guard, members of the family from Bacolod City decided to celebrate Easter Sunday by having an all-day swimming activity in Paradiso Resort.
However, the supposedly happy moments turned sour and chilling after seven members who were riding a water buoyant, stuck in the deep waters with very strong current.
Two out of seven survived the unfateful tragedy after being rescued after a tourist boat from another town saw the incident.
The PCG identified the five victims as Mary Jane Tabligan Desucos, 49, Kian Tabligan Betilla, Nica Betilla, Jane Rose Tabligan, 11, and Wel Jhon Brillo, 24.
